Weird!
On Monday we began reading the Weird! series on bullying. My son loves the Thomas train table at Chapters, so while he plays I look for books that the class might like and I came across this really neat series of books on bullying. We read Weird! first and discovered Louisa who was being bullied by Sam. Tomorrow (which will be today when we're reading this entry) we will read Dare! which we have predicted will be about the purple-shirt girl being dared by Sam to do something mean to Louisa.
I was blown away by the discussion we had about the first book. The connections and inferences were outstanding! I can't wait to see what they think of Dare!
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Today I was appreciative of so many students. Maxx for always making the right decision, Hailey for the help in Art, Christina for being able to organize any task I give her (go golds!), Dawson for self-reflecting throughout each and every day, Cassandra for taking the Gnome to the water park, Rylee for bringing her agenda to school so she could be Mrs. Styles, Cannon for a phenomenal Art period and for taping his own mouth shut at recess (it was pretty funny), and to Katie-Lynn for her undivided attention in Math. The list could go on but I have some marking to do....
Our new Ministers of Social Services will be sending home a Valentine's Day party note by the end of the week.
